"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
Psalm 139:13-14

Biography

Born in Maryland, raised in New Mexico, married in Washington, DC, and finally settled on the west side of Lake Norman in North Carolina, I became a certified Bradley Method® instructor in the fall of 2008. All of the women in my family have given birth to their children naturally, so when I became pregnant with my first child, it seemed like an obvious choice to me. After a couple appointments with an OB, my husband and I decided to work with a Midwife instead, and we also enrolled in a natural childbirth class. After a great experience in our class, I was able to give birth to Reese without medication, and I'm so grateful for it. My experience was so positive that I wanted to make sure that every woman has the knowledge and training to make a positive birth experience possible. And that's why I started PureJoy!

As all my friends know, when I'm not giving my attentions to my family or to PureJoy, I am most likely to be found reading. I'm a big supporter of local foods and I love shopping at the Denver farmer's market. With the goal of eventually becoming a practicing Obstetrician, I am also currently enrolled in pre-medical studies at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
